The stone
Purple quartz, grown in volcanic rock.
Amethyst is a cherished variety of quartz. It forms in volcanic rock and granite formations, where silica-rich fluids slowly cool and crystallize, and heat and pressure turn clear quartz into its signature purple. It grows in everything from delicate clusters to awe-inspiring geodes.
Its name comes from the Greek amethystos, meaning "not intoxicated." The Greeks and Romans prized it as a remedy for drunkenness, and the ancient Greeks even carved drinking cups from it.
Amethyst is found in Brazil, Uruguay, Zambia, South Africa, Madagascar, Russia, Bolivia, Mexico, Namibia and Canada.

A crystal of tranquility, intuition and protection.
In crystal tradition, amethyst is said to resonate at a powerful frequency, purifying the atmosphere and fostering clarity, protection and balanced energy. In crystal energy work it is connected with spirituality and associated with the Third Eye (Brow) and Crown chakras, the centers of intuition and connection with the divine. It is believed to promote inner peace, spiritual connection and a harmonious balance in life.
Spheres are thought to send energy out equally in every direction, their symmetry said to radiate a high frequency of positive energy.
Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
