Blue apatite is a naturally bright, well-saturated stone, from electric blue to blue-green. It forms in igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks; the most significant deposits are in sedimentary rocks, built up as phosphatic organic debris accumulated and mineralized in lake and marine environments. Apatite is found in many places around the world, and its main sources are Mexico, Brazil and Burma.
Known as a stone of inspiration, clarity and communication, apatite is considered a good stone for communication and teaching. It is said to be a stone of manifestation attuned to the future, yet connected to past lives, and is believed to develop metaphysical abilities and spiritual attunement, deepen meditation and raise kundalini. It is also considered to develop the consciousness of past-life experiences, and may augment an understanding of karmic influences on the wearer’s current life and reality.
Blue apatite has been used to honor Gaia, the Greek Earth Mother goddess, and carries an energy of growth, the earth and life springing forth.
