The stone of the Amazonians

A sparkle with a story.

In ancient Greek myth, the Amazonians were honored as independent, fierce warriors. They set aventurine into their breastplates as adornments and talismans, and it was called the stone of the Amazonians until the 1800s.

Its name comes from the Italian word ventura, “by chance”. Legend has it that metal filings accidentally fell into a molten glass mixture, which cooled into glass full of iridescent sparkles and was used in jewelry; the stone was named for how much it resembled that accidental sparkling glass.

Colours: Usually green; also found in blue, yellow, brown, white, gray, orange and red
Found in: Brazil, China, India, Italy, Nepal, Russia and Tibet

A good luck gem.

In crystal tradition, the rounded shape of a tumbled stone is said to promote a gentle, harmonious energy flow and a natural connection with the stone’s properties.

Aventurine is said to be a good luck gem. The Tibetans worked with it to improve their creativity, believing it brought confidence, creativity and passion. In crystal energy work it is considered a gentle stone, aligned with the heart chakra for love and compassion and with the throat chakra for inspiration.

Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
