Multicolor fluorite is calcium fluoride, found in hues from colourless to green, blue, purple, pink, orange, yellow, black and brown. Rainbow fluorite, one of its forms, shows distinct bands of colour. The stone is too soft for faceted gems, so it shines brightest polished into spheres, wands, points and generators.
