The cat’s eye shimmer
Turn it and the light moves.
Tiger’s eye belongs to the quartz group of minerals and is made mainly of silicon dioxide. It forms through pseudomorphism: crocidolite, a fibrous blue mineral, is replaced by golden-brown to reddish-brown quartz while keeping its original fibrous shape.
That structure gives the stone its chatoyancy, the “cat’s eye effect”: a shimmering band of light that moves across the surface as you rotate it. Every cube carries its own banding, so yours is one of a kind.
A stone of courage, confidence and protection.
In crystal tradition, the square shape of a cube symbolizes stability, structure and grounding, and is said to enhance a stone’s properties of manifestation and organization.
Tiger’s eye is known as a stone of courage and strength, believed to empower bold action and help overcome challenges with confidence. It is said to enhance intuition and psychic abilities for a deeper connection with inner wisdom and spiritual insight, and to promote balance and harmony, helping release fear and anxiety while instilling groundedness and protection.
It is closely associated with the solar plexus chakra, where it is said to stimulate and balance personal power, confidence and self-esteem, fostering a sense of empowerment and inner strength.
Its name comes from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger. In ancient times it was believed to bestow courage and strength, and it was revered as a talisman for protection, warding off evil spirits and bringing good fortune. Folklore held that wearing it enhanced intuition and sharpened the senses, helping its wearer move through life’s challenges with grace and resilience, and it has been beloved in cultures worldwide for centuries.
Crystals and stones have been prized through the ages for their timeless beauty, rich history and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical effect.
